Fairfax brothers make Doe the Turtle, Ray the Panda and Mei the Butterfly from solid natural wood, $50 off each for families who sign up through November 30.

FAIRFAX, VA, UNITED STATES, November 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Stobbi, a family company from Fairfax, Virginia, is heading into the holiday season with a line of solid natural wood step stools designed as characters: Doe the Turtle, Ray the Panda and Mei the Butterfly. Each one helps a child reach the sink, help in the kitchen and find a favorite book, so the parts of the day a parent used to do for them become the parts they are proud to do themselves.

Stobbi is made by Giggles & You, founded by brothers Abhishek and Vinayak Kishore. The idea came from Abhishek's three-year-old, and from watching how children light up when they do something on their own, even something as small as brushing their teeth.

"Kids light up when they do something themselves," said Abhishek Kishore, co-founder of Stobbi and a parent of two daughters. "A step stool is one of the simplest ways to make that possible. So we made each Stobbi a character. Instead of feeling like furniture, it feels like a helper that goes with them from the bathroom to the kitchen and back."

A friend, not a piece of furniture

Stobbi draws on two traditions in early childhood. From Montessori, the belief that children learn by doing, with real tools sized for small hands. From Waldorf, the power of story and pretend play. A child will not reach for furniture, the company says, but they will call a turtle over to the sink. Giving the step stool a face and a name turns the daily push and pull over handwashing and brushing teeth into a routine the child chooses.

Parents have written to the company about what changed at home. One parent shared that their daughter "gave Ray a kiss this morning, after using the stool while brushing her teeth."
