He added that the US is currently conducting a broader review of its military posture across Europe, but stressed that this process is not aimed at weakening the strategic partnership with Poland.
Following the call, Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote on the social media platform X that the ongoing adjustments “is not directed against our strategic partnership,” adding that both sides agreed to continue cooperation on strengthening Poland’s security framework and shaping the long-term structure of the US military presence in the country.
The reassurance came after reports that the Pentagon had cancelled a planned rotational deployment of roughly 4,000 troops from the US Army’s 1st Cavalry Division to Poland, a deployment that had reportedly been in advanced preparation stages.
The potential shift had raised concern in Warsaw, where US military presence has become a key pillar of national defense strategy since the start of the Russia–Ukraine war in 2022.
