279 Mexicans Evacuated from Middle East
Speaking at her daily morning briefing from the National Palace, Sheinbaum disclosed that overland routes were used to move the evacuees to safer territories. "Most have departed by land to Egypt, Jordan, and Türkiye, countries that have open airspace," Sheinbaum said.
The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs formally verified that nationals had been successfully removed from high-risk zones, adding that diplomatic missions across the region were maintaining close watch over the situation. The ministry stated that all Mexican embassies in the Middle East "remain vigilant and in continuous contact with nationals residing in or traveling through the region to provide required consular assistance."
Mexican authorities have issued a firm advisory urging all citizens currently present in the Middle East to remain in safe locations, refrain from any non-essential movement, and adhere strictly to directives issued by local officials as the security environment remains deeply unstable.
No casualties among the evacuated nationals were reported.
